B A S I C S Name: Nick Gautier Date of Birth: 12.21.82 Date of Death: Unknown, but Nick has "died" twice, once by his own hand, once by War Apparent Age/Actual Age: 24/30 Voice: Normally, Nick has little to no accent. If he gets angry or upset, his voice will start to sound more and more Cajun. Since writing out accents/slang can be cumbersome, I will usually reference this in text. Teeth:Nick has fangs. They're always there, but he learned early how to smile/speak without showing them. Early into his stay they will be visible more than not because he's 2 years out of practice hiding them. P E R S O N A L I T Y Nick has always been a study of contradictions. His very existence goes against the order of his universe. In the history of his known world, there was one known about the Malachai: that he is created in violence to do violence. Most are products of rape and destined, if they live past their tenth birthday, to draw the father's power into themselves until the elder dies at his son's hand and the transition is complete. This did not happen with Nick. Adarian, Nick's father, fell in love with Cherise Gautier. Nick was raised by a mother who loved him, who brought him up Catholic and with a strong sense of good and evil, right and wrong. He still has the dark, destructive nature of his father inside him, but it's always been tempered by the warmth of Cherise's love. With all of this at odds inside him, Nick can be a tough guy to gauge. He has a great capacity for love - he's unflinchingly loyal to and protective of those he calls friends or family. He has a flair for sarcasm and a quick wit. He can take any insult thrown at him and usually throw it back with just as much bite. It's very hard to get under his skin - too much of the Cajun laissez faire inside him for all that. The only way to really rattle him is to threaten someone close to him. The stronger the threat, the worse his temper. It's the only time he will really act without thinking and completely deafen the side of him governed by his mother's love and give in to his father's rage. The one main change his time on the island has wrought is distance from the full bite of his father's powers inside him. As they were inhuman in nature, they only survived in their most muted form.
D A R K S I D E Nick generally has a tight control on his demon form, but if he's startled/scared, his body may shiver into a form of it (his skin will flash red and black, or his eyes will flash yellow.) If he's in a fight, and losing, he may lose control completely and shift into complete demon form. Nick in full demon form will have red skin covered in black markings that appear to shift and move on his skin. He has horns, and wings, and blazing yellow eyes. He may or may not speak English when he's in this form but he will understand it. Finally, Nick will never, ever be out in sunlight.
